The Tollycraft 53's are a
rare find and this particular vessel is in remarkable condition. An Ed
Monk designed raised pilothouse motor yacht, it is a unique departure
from typical Tollycraft designs with a widebody 16'11" beam and low
exterior profile. This three stateroom model features a full beam width
master stateroom amidships and a full beam width salon aft opening to
the cockpit. The fully featured galley and dinette adjoin the spacious
and comfortable pilothouse. This yacht has been completely prepared for
serious and luxurious cruising.
The asking price has been reduced to $690,000 and the owner is
encouraging offers!
A very rare 60' Santa Barbara slip may be made available, ask broker for
price and details.
Accommodations
From the dock, entry aboard Charis is made by stepping onto the swim
step and through the transom door into the cockpit. The saloon opens to
the cockpit through large wood and glass double doors that create a
wonderful indoor-outdoor environment. The Tollycraft 53 is a very beamy
boat at about 17' and the full width saloon, no side decks aft, is
unusually large. Beautiful teak built-in cabinetry runs along the
starboard side to enclose the entertainment system, storage and
icemaker. Across on port is a luxurious L-shaped cream colored leather
sofa with a smoked glass and hardwood adjustable height table. Two
contemporary dark green recliners with ottomans may be placed to suit
entertaining, television viewing or relaxing as needed. On the forward
port side is a door to the port side deck and pass through to the
galley. The saloon is surrounded on three sides by glass for the most
incredible views.
Moving forward and up three steps you enter a spacious raised pilothouse
and the center of most activities. On this level you have a well
designed U-shaped galley on port with ample cabinetry and drawers for
your provisions and culinary requirements, and additional storage
cabinets across on starboard. Forward of the galley on port is a
sumptuous U-shaped dinette with cream colored leather seating. At the
center of the pilothouse is the helm station that features all of the
controls to navigate to your desired destination while perched upon your
adjustable helm seat. On the starboard side forward is a winding
stairwell to the staterooms below, and next to it the pilot door
conveniently leading to the side deck, foredeck and flybridge. The
pilothouse is a wonderful place to take in the views through 270 degrees
of glass.
As you wind down the stairwell to the stateroom level a cabinet
containing the washer-dryer is located next to the master stateroom
door. The master stateroom is down three steps and is located directly
below the pilothouse. This suite features a queen-sized centerline bed,
ensuite head with seperate shower stall, built-in seating, a large
vanity and his-hers closets. Forward of the master on port is the guest
stateroom with upper-lower bunks, closet and built in storage. Across on
starboard is the guest head with seperate shower stall. Furthest forward
is the full width VIP stateroom that features a queen-sized island
berth, closet, built-in storage and private entrance to the guest head.
The light colored decore throughout the stateroom level is quite
tasteful and creates a very open feel.Wall to wall beige carpeting over

The Galley
Onboard this vessel, the chef has all of the modern conveniences to
prepare the culinary delights that make a passage so enjoyable. For
cruising, the convenience of the galley, in the pilothouse, adjacent to
the large dinette is something you will never give up once you have
experienced it, especially on long passages.Double stainless steel sink
